VMware Fusion enables users of Macintosh computers based on Intel platforms to run applications developed for other operating systems, including Windows and Linux. It supports both 32-bit and 64-bit OS.

VMware 3.1.1 is a maintenance release that addresses the following issues and adds new support. This - a free upgrade for all VMware 3.x users.
* VMware vSphere 4.1 is now supported as guest operating system. VMware Assured Professionals (VCPs) and virtualization experts can use VMware vSphere 4.1, to install the latest server virtualization software, and experiment with setting the server to conduct training, the people of the show, and test the configuration of production. Managing ESX, as a guest eliminates the need to have spare hardware available to run natively and allows ESX ESX to run on systems that are not listed in the compatibility of the hardware ESX (HCL). This feature is intended for educational and demonstration purposes only and should not be used in production environments. To use this feature, you must download vSphere 4.1 from VMware's website and follow the installation documentation provided by VMware vSphere, to install ESX.
